We offer professional baby care services by highly-qualified Newborn Specialists in the privacy and comfort of your own home. Nannies are available in 12-hour shifts covered by two baby nurses, seven days a week to compliment your family’s personal needs.

Because of our goal to provide only the best for our clients, the nannies, baby nurses, and doulas are required to be CPR certified and are trained and updated with the latest news and techniques available in the baby home care industry.

Hill Country Helpers specializes in baby nursing and provides the following services:

Baby Nurse or Night Nurse

A baby nurse is a non-medical newborn care specialist that is highly experienced in infant care. Baby nurses work in private homes and care for newborns, typically from the day, the baby arrives home until the first two weeks until one month. Typically two nurses are covering a 24-hour shift, or one night and one day.

  • Educating parents in infant care
  • Establish a routine schedule for the infant. Sleep time, and feeding schedule, according to parents’ lifestyle.
  • Assist new and inexperienced parents with the transition to parenthood. Consult parents on caring for their new infant.
  • Monitor baby’s nutritional intake and output, organize and keep nursery clean, bottle sterilization.
  • Also, a baby nurse will deal with colic and GER problems (gastric esophagus reflux)

Lactation Educator

  • Educate and assists parents with breastfeeding
  • We shop for baby supplies
  • Help mom set up a breast pump and how to use it
  • All breastfeeding supplies (pillows, extra pumping parts, etc.)

Austin Newborn Nanny

Nannies typically work from 9 pm-6 am overnight; daytime nannies 9 am-6 pm or upon parents’ request. We also offer part-time nannies two days a week or more. Overnight nannies will attend to your newborn’s needs while you get a good night’s sleep.

Duties include: Swaddling, changing the baby’s diaper, rocking, burping, and soothing the baby.

 Mother’s Helper

A mother’s helper is a person who helps a parent or family who needs extra care while the parent is at home.

  • Assist mother with day to day care of the child
  • May run errands
  • Light housekeeping

Postpartum Doulas in Austin (coming soon)

A doula, Greek for ‘woman who helps woman’, is a non-medical paraprofessional postpartum care provider.  Our doulas offer encouragement, support, and practical knowledge to mom and dad.  This person is specifically trained to give new mothers the assistance and “mothering” they need.  Doulas will also take over those tasks that take time away from your new baby. 

Doulas help new parents with basic baby skills such as:

  • Newborn bathing
  • Newborn care
  • Circumcision care
  • Breastfeeding support
  • Swaddling
  • Umbilical cord care
  • Diaper changing
